I think I could have done better. I could have gotten more information and gone more in-depth on my research towards the information. But I think I done alright.

Cultural Assessment- Home Economics

For the whole of this term our Home Economics class has been working on a Cutural assessment with the final product being a dish from that culture. I got in a group with Austin and we chose Italy. We had to answer a bunch of different questions about Italy's culture and put it on a slide show. Then we had to decide on one dish from that country and we knew from the start we would do pizza. We researched recipes and decided on a Pepperoni Pizza. On the day we were quite stressed because we were running out of time fast so we had to cut the dough resting short and hurry up and cook the pizza. Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?

My Perspective:

#1) The Simple Sentence

I don't think teachers should be allowed to carry guns around school.

#11) The W-start sentence

While I can see why it could be necessary, I don't think it's needed to be armed while in a school as there can be many negatives.

#2) Very Short Sentence

Teachers shouldn't be armed.

Other Perspective:

#3) The Power Sentence

It will be a good idea for teachers to be armed around the school.

#12) Explore The Subject

Armed teachers, this is a good idea for themselves and students, this is for their safety.

In Business studies, we have been learning about budgeting. Our learning outcome was to identify their needs, wants, and personal values. I made a Prezi about the stages of budgeting.

I did well I could have done more by myself but I did well. I could have listened more in class though.

Digital Technology

This and last term in DTE we have been researching and planning on making our Venduino powered mini vending machine. For the wood cutout, we are going to be using a Laser Cutter. But we have been struggling with transferring the Files we need to the laser cutter programs so we looked up a picture on the internet but then we had to remove the watermark. We are still yet to cut the wood and haven't even started the Venduino program. This is our Planning, Files, and logbook.

Project Title: Arduino Vending Machine

Materials List:

Brief/ Research: We are going to be making a mini tabletop vending machine that will be powered by an Arduino code. We are making this because we saw a video on how to make it and we thought it looked cool.

Development Log:   20/08 We have been researching different ideas for our arduino project.  21/08 We still kept researching. 27/08 We have decided to choose between a robotic arm and vending machine 28/08 Our group chose to work on the vending machine 3/09 We researched the video and projects involving arduino, Trys arduinoing to the 4/09 Got onto the site and added all the files and screenshots onto the Doc 10/09 Found the files and added them to the doc 11/09/20 Making and finding out measurements to for the scaling of the wood 17 /09/20 Finding out how to implement the files onto the laserworks app 18/09/20 Looking for Mr Roscoe so we can learn about the wood cutting 24/09/20 This period we have been working on putting the files on the laserworks app.  25/09/20 Final Period of Term 3 finishing work on the log book. 15/10/20 On this day we were planning how we were going to use the laser cutter.  16/10/20 On this day we tried to figure out how the laser cutter works 22/10/20 We tried to get the laser cutter to cut our files but it didn’t work properly 23/10/20 We removed the watermark from the picture of our files so we could cut the wood with the laser cutter. 29/10/20 We got the outline to cut with the laser cutter but the lines were not straight enough so we spent the lesson trying to straighten the lines but were unable to get them straight enough to cut with the laser cutter  30/10/20 Update logbook and make a blog post

Personal Reflection:

I think I did alright but I definitely could have done better. I could've done better when it comes to getting into it faster each lesson because sometimes I just sat there and wasted time.
