What are Pneumatic tools? Pneumatic tools are a type of power tool, driven by compressed air from an air compressor.
What is an air compressor? An air compressor is a pneumatic device that converts power into potential energy stored in pressurized
air.
Diagram examples of compressors and an explanation:
An air compressor is powered by an engine that turns electrical energy into kinetic energy. It forces air into a container then pressurizes it and then is released to the desired pressure which is used to power different pneumatic tools.
Show a range of different air compressors you might come across.
Safety when using an air compressor. Dangers and hazards, preventive action, and servicing.
Electrical dangers, fumes, flying particles, high pressures, and high noise levels. You can avoid these by, wearing the correct PPE, using in the correct climate, general electrical saftey.
General PPE when using air tools:
Eye protection, Appropriate footwear, Hearing protection, Protective clothing.
