 I pause for a moment, aghast at the number of them filling the narrow path. Before today, I caught only glimpses of the laborers brought in to staff the palace—always pleasant, clean, groomed to Mother’s satisfaction. Like Binta, I thought they lived simple lives, safe within the palace walls. I never considered where they came from, where else they might have ended up,
“Skies…” It’s almost too hard to bear the sight. Mostly diviners, the laborers outnumber the villagers by hordes, dressed in nothing but tattered rags. Their dark skin blisters under the scorching sun, marred by the dirt and sand seemingly burned into their beings. Each is hardly more than a walking skeleton.
The main idea in this passage I believe is how differently Amari had been living to Zeile and Tzain and their family and maybe how Amari was taking it all for granted.

“Mama, are you okay?” 
Tears come to her eyes, spilling into the wrinkles of her dark skin. “It’s been so long,” she whispers. “I never thought I would feel the warmth of magic again”

This could be compared to / A message I take from this scene is everyone isn't honest because everyone thought Mama Agba wasn't a diviner but it turns out she was.

The main idea of this quote is showing how emotional Mama Agba was to have magic back with her

“I am afraid not, Your Highness. I saw it with my own eyes. Their magic was weak, but it was there.”

What does this mean for us? What shall happen to the monarchy? Are the maji already planning an attack? Will we have any chance of fighting back?
Memories of Father before the Raid play in my head, a paranoid man with grinding teeth and forever greying hair. The man who forced Inan and me into the palace cellar, placing swords in our hands though we were far too young and weak to lift them.
The maji will come for you, he warned. The same words every time he forced us to spar. When they do, you must be prepared.

This could be compared to Harry Potter because both stories are Intense and have high-tension action.
A message I take from this scene is Amari was scared for the maji to come back because she dosent want her father to go back to the way he was.

“It’s a diviner tax.” I grip the draped fabric of my pants, still haunted by the guard’s touch. “They came for Mama Agba, too. Probably hitting every home in Ilorin.”
  Tzain presses his fists to his forehead as if he could smash through his own skull. He wants to believe that playing by the monarchy’s rules will keep us safe, but nothing can protect us when those rules are rooted in hate.
This could be compared to poverty in many different countries / A message I take from this scene is don't trust the guards

SEXXY Paragraph

Today In English we worked on making a Sexxy Paragraph about a Close Up Shot from a scene in the Movie The Power Of One. Here is the Paragraph.

The close up shot was used effectively to show the intensity of the shot. We see the guard and Geel Piet and the weapon. The director used this shot to show the fear in Geel Piet eyes and the anger in the guards eyes. This shot made the audience feel empathy for Geel piet because we could see the fear in his eyes. In this shot we see the imbalance of power between the guard and Geel Piet which is something we see later on in the film.

• What did I like about learning from home? One thing I liked about it was how i didn't have to wake up early everyday for school and how i had the ability to wake up at any time and still be able to complete some school work.

“The Final” 

It was the morning of the Basketball State Finals, Jonathan had woken up at
5:30 in complete nervousness. However Jay had been the complete opposite
and woken up at 11:30. The game was scheduled to be played at 5:30 pm.
It is coming up to 5 pm and both star players were warming up and pumped
to play, And the game is underway, both teams get off to a great start on the
offensive side however the defensive side is not so great. We are halfway into
the final quarter, tensions are high, still a close game and a fight has broken
out. Both star players have started a scuffle and this cannot be good.
Both players get a technical foul and are both close to getting sent out of the
game. Coach Neil has called a timeout to cool Jay down.

We are now entering the final minute, still a close game and Jay goes down
past half and pulls up for a three pointer and…. It's good, the shot has gone
in and with 3 seconds to go Jay’s team is up 1 point. Coach Steve has called
a timeout and is drawing Jonathan a play. Jonathan's team inbound the ball
to Jonathan who has the ball, one second left and he puts up a shot. And it’s
good the shot has gone in and Jonathan and his team have won the state
championship. 

Jonathan and his team are celebrating and Jay comes up to Jonathan and
congratulates him on the win!

They see Kevin, Robyn, Chris, and Corrie but Corrie has been shot in the back.

That someone drives her up to the hospital rings the bell and abandons her at the gate because 7 is better than 6.

He decides to go with Corrie to the hospital, That he really is caring and brave and it shows how much he loves Corrie.

Because she realized why she was so attracted to Homer. She doesn't want to lose him as he is like a brother to her.

They were both happy

To stop the soldiers from delivering things to other towns because the bridge is the gateway to other towns.

It is more dangerous and they have more of a chance of being caught or killed.

Why is Ellie nervous about being paired with Fi?
Because Fi isn't the most physically gifted person

True courage is when you're really scared but you still do it.

What is a clue that Fi’s relationship with Homer is becoming serious?
She says 'I love you' to him through the walkie-talkie.

What problems do Fi and Ellie encounter on their mission to bring the tanker to the appropriate place under the bridge? How do they deal with these problems?
A group of soldiers patrolling the streets come by truck and Fi and Ellie are scared they will get caught but the soldiers don't notice the truck. Ellie tries to silently roll down a hill but the brakes don't work and the steering wheel locks itself and she nearly crashes into a fence. She turns the ignition back on and swerves away from the fence.

Use the cows  to distract the soldiers and they'll use the motorbikes to get away and use the petrol tanker to blow it up.

Ellie is okay with stealing essential items, not non-essential items. "I suppose because they weren't as essential as the other things we had not taken

The UN and other war people will look around and if they have done negative things.

What happened to the soldiers involved in the lawnmower incident, according to Robyn? How does this make Ellie feel?
Two of the people had died and one was badly injured. This made Ellie feel guilty.

Why do you think prisoners are sent to clean up the houses around town?
Because they want people to be able to live in the houses and also because they need supplies.

She dosent think he did it, "I believe you (the Hermit) have been a man unjustly accused."

Robyn is the leader of their group and shows that. Homer is in charge of getting the supply's. Corrie is in charge of the radio. Lee is just a moving force. Kevin is collecting the  firewood. Chris is in charge of just doing the wrong things. Ellie is the group person who looks after everyone and Fi is a translator.

According to what the teenagers hear on Corrie's radio, why would America be best not to get involved in Australia’s struggle?
If America were involved the "war" would last much longer and be overall worse for everyone involved. The Americans were also threatened by the invaders.

Why is Australia being invaded? Other countries are sick of Australia having it easy.

A reader can infer many things from the snippet of news heard over Corrie’s radio. Which country or countries are likely to have invaded Australia?
I believe that the countries likely to have a peaceful country like Australia are countries that are within the UN, and potentially they think that Australia is running ahead the rest of the UN in certain areas, meaning that they are taking their own force of action

How are the prisoners being treated? The soldiers are being 'generous' to the prisoners. by keeping them in human condition and not forcing them to do anything 

What do Kevin and Robyn argue about? Do you think Robyn’s points are fair?
I think that they can, but anyone is possible of sleeping all day if they have an irrational sleep pattern and are tired. I think Ellie has never seen herself as a typical teenager, unable to waste away her days on a computer, much more comfortable drenching sheep in the back block, however, recent experiences make her feel even more disconnected from the 'typical' teenager.

"Paradise of Hell” is an oxymoron. What does it mean.?
for some people this means your gonna die and go to hell
Kevin’s hatred of the invaders is quite extreme. Why do you think he is so angry?
The group takes turns discussing the extent to which they’d go to make a difference. Order the characters by their commitment to overthrowing the enemy? The group is starting to think about long-term survival in Hell. What are some clues to this? They talk about setting up a chicken coop, a veggie garden, etc. What does the group decide they must do at this point?
Half the group goes into Wirrawee, half the group stays and sets up a better camp.

Why does Homer insist on going on with the plans after Corrie's house blows up? How does he convince Corrie that this is a good idea? Homer should tell Corrie that this was a good idea because the soldier now thinks that Homer and his group have died and the soldiers won't go looking for them anymore.

Describe the strategy Homer and Ellie use to ensure their safety when riding their bikes into town. What does this show about how they are starting to think?

Homer rides up to Ellie to ride two abreast and holds hands with her. Then Homer stays 100-200 meters behind Ellie and she'd stop at every corner to check and then signal. This shows that they are starting to think like soldiers, like what Homer said before.

Why do you think Mr. Clement is reluctant to help Lee and Robyn? How would you react in his position?

Because he doesn't trust them or anyone, and he does not want to get caught by soldiers. 

How has Homer changed in Ellie's eyes since the invasion?

He has become more mature,smarter, and more of a responsible leader.

What are the two different types of soldiers and how do they each treat the inhabitants of Wirraweee?

One type was very well trained and professional soldiers and they treat people better. The other type of soldiers were just people to make up the numbers and treated people badly. 

Why do you think Robyn had the strength to carry Lee?

I think because that's the only way for him to survive, other than leaving him there to die.

How have the group decided to rescue Lee, whose idea was this and why do they think it will work.

They'd decide to use one of the truck form the . Robyn will go back to the restaurant and gets Lee ready, gets him close to the street, while Ellie and Homer burn down the street, stop, and throw Lee and Robyn in the truck, then go to Hell.  It is Homer & Ellie's idea.
