Last week Mr Madren came to our class and we did and animation and I did it about the Ice-Cream Truck. We had to make characters and background on google drawing. Then we put it onto a google presentation.

Mr Peanut Presentation

This week we have been making Mr Peanut Presentations and I did mine with Michael and Gary. We had to include who is the real Mr Peanut and Learn about Gorge Washington Carver. Me Michael and Gary also included 10 ways to use peanuts. This is our presentation.

Guy Fawkes Presentation

Yesterday was Guy Fawkes day and because it was Guy Fawkes day we had to make a presentation about who Guy Fawkes was. I did my presentation with Isaac, Teina & Dom. We had to do slides about who Guy Fawkes was and what Guy Fawkes day was and what he did.

Picasso Art

This week we have been learning about Pablo Picasso and cubism. Cubism is a piece of artwork made out 3D shapes. Then my teacher told us we have to make one. First we had to take a photo of ourself and put shapes on it. Then we had to do it on a piece of paper. After that we drew our design on a big piece of paper with a pencil. Then we drew over it with vivid and blended it with pastal. This is my final product.

This term we have been doing Pasifka Art. We had to design our petals and then one of the teachers had to photocopy them 10 times. Then we dyed all of them at the max of 3 colors. I did mine red and green. Then we waited for them to dry. Next we cut them out and got a black peace of paper and glued half of them on. Then we taped the half on the paper. After that we got a peace of white paper and a small peace of black paper. Finally we  weaved them together and taped it onto the petals.

Diary Of A Wimpy Kid Dog Days Book Trailer

For the past week we have been learning about book trailers. I worked with Austin and the book we did was Diary Of A Wimpy Kid Dog Days. First we had to make a storyboard to plan what we where going to have. Then we made our book trailer on a Google Presentation. Then we did a rubric on how we thought our book trailers were.

I gave myself these scores because I think the book trailer  runs smoothly and holds attention but don't think it is perfect and i think it has all the key scenes from the book.

This week for maths we have been learning about Pablo Picasso, Cubism, Geometry and 3D Shapes. Brooklyn, Austin and I Made this Presentation. 

Cotton Ball Catapult

Cotton Ball Catapult

This week Room 5 & 6 have been making Cotton Ball Catapults. I made mine with Natasha & Odin. We made lots of prototypes and this is our final prototype.

Then we went on to make our catapult. We used lots of materials like plastic spoons, popsical stick, rocks, a box, wool and tape.

Then we put all of our materials together and made this awesome catapult.

Today we launched them and ours only went high. Ours went 2 meters high and we won $50 in class money. But for the other things we failed.

Calendar Art 2015

Last week we started to make our calendar art for this year.Then we carried on this week. First we traced our hands onto a peace of paper. Next we drew four lines and there were nine boxes and in the nine boxes we had to do designs. Then we had to color it in. Then we went over the lines with black vivid. This is my 2015 calendar art.

My Sketching

This week and last week our class have been doing sketching before school. Our teachers printed out pictures for us to sketch. I sketched a dragon, batman and a dog from Marmaduke. These are all of my sketching's. 

The favourite sketch that I did was the dragon because it looks very cool.

Something that I learnt from sketching was that you have to press lightly with your pencil so you can rub it out if you make a mistake.

New Zealand Flag Debate Presentation

Last week we created a New Zealand flag debate presentation. We had to include facts and questions. This is the New Zealand flag debate presentation that I created.

Limerick Poems

This week we learnt how to write limerick poems. Limerick Poems have 5 lines. Line number 1, 2 and 5 all rhyme with each other and have 8 or 9 syllables. Lines 3 and 4 both rhyme with each other and have 5 or 6 syllables.

My Digi Award Entry 2015 With Michael

Last week Michael and I recorded our Everyday Hero Rap. We recorded our voices on garageband and then we recorded ourselves and put it on i movie. This is our music video.

This is our description of or process we went through.

During term 2 we learnt about heroes. We also learnt about different types of heroes like      personal heroes, community heroes and ourselves as heroes. We also learnt about the difference between Idols and Heroes. Then we planned our category.

We did a rap. First we had to find keywords that have something to do with heroes. Then we found rhyming words for the keywords. Then we learnt our words off by heart. Then we did our storyboarding and when we did our storyboarding we did our rap on garageband. Once we did our rap we filmed our rap on imovie.

The Digi Awards process helped me learn how to write a rap.

New Zealand Flag Debate Writing

Last Term our class room 5&6 (West Wing) learnt about the New Zealand Flag Debate. We learnt about how John Key wanted to change the New Zealand Flag and how it will cost $26,000,000!!! This is what I wrote about the New Zealand Flag Debate.

New Zealand Flag Debate

In New Zealand right now there is a enormous New Zealand flag debate. John Key would like to change the New Zealand flag. Plenty  people in New Zealand would not like it to change. I think it is not a good idea to change the flag. Everyone in my house thinks it is a stupid idea to change the flag, including myself. A reason why the New Zealand flag should be changed is because it is too similar to the Australian flag because we both have the Union Jack and stars. The only thing that is different is the amount of stars and the colors of the stars. Another reason why we should change the flag is because there is hardly any Maori culture included in our current flag.I think the flag shouldn’t change because it will cost too much money. People are saying it will cost $26,000,000. I think we shouldn’t change the flag because with that money we could fix things from after the earthquakes for example buildings, roads and houses. You could also save endangered animals like Kiwis, Rhinos, and Keas. Another reason why we shouldn’t change the flag is because the stars represent the people that died in WW1 and WW2. Overall 48% of people think we should change the New Zealand flag. But 52% of people think we shouldn’t change the flag. I think we shouldn’t change the flag because it will cost $26,000,000 and you could use that money for more important things.                                                                       John Key

                                                                                                                 

                                                               

Book Character Day

Today we had Book Character Day and everyone dressed up in a costume. I dressed up in my Warriors top and Warriors shorts. My teachers Mrs McGuinnity and Miss Mcleod dressed up as Minions. This is a photo of our entire class in their costumes.

How To Keep Safe On The Internet

On Tuesday Mr Maddren came into our class and he told us about how to be safe on the internet. He showed us a video about a girl that went up to a man at a but stop and told him her name, her email address, phone number, where her family was going and a photo of her friend and herself. Then we had to sort out what was safe to put on the internet and what was not. This is what I did.

My Hero Rap For Digi Awards

In the past few weeks Room 5&6 ( East Wing ) have been doing some work for entries for the Digi Awards. Michael and myself have created a Rap about Everyday Heroes. This is the Rap we have created.

Everyday heroes like to share.

They would not like to compare but they will like to care.

My everyday heroes are my Mum and Dad.

But sometimes they can be a lad.

They will always protect you from the bad.

Everyday heroes give you food.

They might even say, Do you want some food dude?

They provide you with water.

They might even give you a Quarter.

Everyday heroes take care of you.

They will do whatever you want to do.

Mr Breach is a inspiration to the choir.

He teaches them so there voices are higher.

Everyday heroes are responsible.

They could even be a constable.

I got 99 problems but a hero aint one.

Because my hero would protect me from a gun.

You could be an everyday hero if you’re good

Just be a hero, yes you should

Be a hero if you can

it doesn't matter if you're a woman or a man.

I know for sure they will keep you safe
