Market Day and Review

Yesterday we had a market day and my group sold pizza. This is my review on it,

Three things we could improve on: We could have Made the pizza ourselves because it may have brung in more customers, Have the pizza be warm because there were some complaints about it being cold, Be more creative with our ideas because we basically just bought it and sold it and we could advertise our product more to bring more customers in.

Three things that went well: Our teamwork becausewe all shared being at the stall, We sold all of our products without advertising because we still sold out without people knowing about our buisness, we teamed up to promote another teams business which bought each team more customers.

Three Changes:

Better Advetisement to bring in more customers,

Better Customer Servise as we may of scared some customers away,

Make more product to sell because we sold out kind of fast.

Canterbury Research

In Social Studies we have been learning about Canterburys History and Environment. One thing I like about Christchurch is all the opportunities there are. The opportunities are things like sport, sports such as Basketball and Football. I have made a Prezi Presentation about My Canterbury and this is it,

Children Of Blood and Bone Chapter 66

Father stands in his night robes, scanning a faded map. No sign of hatred. Not even a hint of disgust.

For him, carving MAGGOT into a girl’s back is just another day’s work.

In that instant it hits me: Zulaikha’s death. Zélie’s screams. They don’t mean a thing to him. Because they’re maji, they’re nothing.
This could be compared to the way the guards were treating the Africanas in The Power Of One

Rube Goldberg Machines

  • The materials my team used was a paper towel roll, a cardboard box, and lego.
  • The simple machine we made was an inclined plane
  • All of the groups in my class joined together and put all our creations into one Rude Goldberg machine.

Children Of Blood and Bone: Chapter 59

“How will me coming back to Lagos solve any of that?” I ask. “As we speak, your father calls for my head!”

“My father’s scared.” Inan shakes his head. “He’s misguided, but his fear is justified. All the monarchy’s ever seen is the destruction maji can bring. They’ve never experienced anything like this.” He gestures to the camp, face alight with so much hope his smile practically glows in the darkness. “Zulaikha created this in one moon, and there are already more diviners in Lagos than anywhere else in Orïsha. Just imagine what we could accomplish with the resources of the monarchy behind us.”
One message I take from this passage is I think it's weird how Zeile's scared to go to Lagos for her family and how Inan thinks his dad would be scared if maji cam to his city.

Children Of Blood and Bone: Chapter 56

We zip through the crowd while celebrants thrust and shimmy by our sides. Though part of me wants to cry, I crane my neck to take in the crowd, craving their joy, their life.

The children of Orïsha dance like there’s no tomorrow, each step praising the gods. Their mouths glorify the rapture of liberation, their hearts sing the Yoruba songs of freedom. My ears dance at the words of my language, words I once thought I’d never hear outside my head. They seem to light up the air with their delight.
It’s like the whole world can breathe again.
A question I have for this passage is this happiness going to continue through to the next chapter or is something going to ruin it.

Agricultural Age Essay

In Social Studies we have been learning about different periods in time. My group had to learn about Agricultural age and one we had done that we had to individually write essays around the topic. This is the essay I wrote,

During the Agricultural Age period in history, there were some significant technological advancements. Some of these inventions during this time were Tractors, Fertilizer, and the Combine Harvester. These inventions are still widely used today.

An important invention seen during the Agricultural Period was the Tractor. The Tractor is an engineering vehicle that was specifically designed to deliver a high tractive effort at slow speeds, for the purposes of hauling a trailer or machinery such as that used in agriculture or construction. This helped because it made it easy to transport things around a farm and more. Tractors are still used today to transport things around a farm. The first Tractor was invented in 1892. This is why this was an important invention.

Another important invention in this time period was the Combine Harvester. The Combine Harvester is a versatile machine designed to efficiently harvest a variety of grain crops. The name derives from its combining three separate harvesting operations reaping, threshing, and winnowing into a single process. Combine harvesters are still used to this day to harvest crops. The first-ever Combine Harvester was invented in 1835. This is why this was an important invention.

The final important invention in the Agricultural time period was Fertilizer. Fertilizer, a natural or artificial substance containing the chemical elements that improve the growth and productiveness of plants. Fertilizers enhance the natural fertility of the soil or replace the chemical elements taken from the soil by previous crops. Fertilizer is still widely used today to help improve the growth of plants. Fertilizer was believed to be invented in 1903. This is why this was an important invention.

There were many significant technological advancements seen during the Agricultural era. Some of those discussed are the Tractor, Combine Harvester, and Fertilizer. These are all commonly seen today all around the world and are still very important.

Children Of Blood and Bone: Chapter 45

Chapter 45 – Inan
“Your people, your guards. They’re nothing more than killers, rapists, and thieves. The only difference between them and criminals is the uniforms they wear.”
This could be compared to the Police who killed George Floyd and started the Black Lifes Matter movement/ A message I take from this scene is just because you wear something doesn't make you better than everyone else

“I won’t let your father get away with what he’s done. I won’t let your ignorance silence my pain”
With that, she disappears. Her quiet footsteps fade into the silence.
In that moment I realize how wrong I’ve truly been.
It doesn’t matter if I’m in her head.
I’ll never understand her pain.
The main idea of this passage is that Inan is feeling bad for Zeile for what his Father has done to her family.

Children Of Blood and Bone: Chapter 43

Now it takes everything to gain control. No matter how hard I fight, the risk of feeling Zélie’s pain lingers. A constant and growing threat.
This could be compared to someone feeling bad for someone/ A message I take from this scene is everyone has a soft spot and no matter how evil they may look, everyone can be nice.
