Tomorrow when the war began: Chapter 7

1. Which people in the group are starting to stand out as leaders, is this surprising? Why/why not? Ellie & Homer. They seem to be taking it the most serious
2. Do you think that taking Kevin’s dog Flip to Corries house was a mistake? Explain your thoughts. No because they didn't want it to suffer and thats fair enough
3. What does Lee mean when he says ‘we might have to make some ugly choices?’ They need to start taking this serious and that may include leaving some things behind
4. How is Ellie’s image of Kevin changing in this chapter? She is starting to see him as a much nicer person
5. Is the decision to split into smaller groups a wise one? Give reasons. Yes because its is better to only hve one or two captured than all of them.
6. Why is it that Elli’s group decides to act ‘illogically’ and survey the Showgrounds together?Ellie thinks it is a good idea to be together so that they'll be less worried to think that someone will get hurt.
7. Why does the idea of a female soldier surprise Ellie? She is surprised because maybe she thinks that to be a solder you have to be a male and that she is used to seeing soldiers as male than females.
8. If your parents were captured in a situation like this, would they have been ‘sensible’, or would there have been violence? With one there may of been violence and then the opposite with the other
9. How is Ellie ‘transformed’ once she steps out from behind a tree near the 

        Showgrounds?When Ellie and her friends were behind the tree, she was really happy

        that she could hide all of them and get away from the trouble. As soon as she steps            away from the tree while something is happening, she starts to panic and starts to               worry. 

10. Ellie and Kevin’s quick-thinking allowed them to turn a ride-on lawnmower

        into a bomb. Was this moral behaviour? Did they do the right thing, or 

        should they have surrendered themselves? I don't think this was a good idea. This is          because they didn't know why the soldiers were there but they just assumed that               they were bad. I think What they could have done better was to figure out what                   exactly are the soldiers are doing there and to at least protect the people of Wirrawee.

11. Predict what you think has happened to Lee and Robyn. I think that maybe they've gone lost or get caught up into something really terrible.
